THE MODERN PENTATHLON

What’s THE MODERN PENTATHLON about? It’s about all the spirit of the Olympics, and none of the spandex. It’s about giving people a taste of Olympic glory, without the serve of Serena Williams, the breaststroke of Michael Phelps or the afterjets of Carl Lewis. And it’s about the thrill of victory (a lot) and even the agony of defeat (just a little).

In other words, THE MODERN PENTATHLON is a day of fun, lightly competitive activities that teach important lessons about interpersonal dynamics, create team chemistry and build stronger leaders. Starting blocks to finish line, it’ll have your people energized, focused and ready to take what they’ve learned about teamwork back to the office.

CONQUEST I and II

OK, so everyone has a Survivor-type, corporate team building program now. But we were one of the first and we’ve been smart enough to keep it fresh and new.

Sorry, Jeff Probst, but in our Survivor no one gets voted off the island. Instead, CONQUEST encourages teamwork by constantly changing teams. That way, people build relationships with absolutely everyone. (That’s very important to our clients.) CONQUEST is comprised of 4-5 challenges (not too tough, not too easy) that allow everyone to fully participate. That’s 50-300 people laughing, energized and generally having a blast.

CONQUEST I. A bit more cerebral. (There’s still plenty of action, but the team building activities lean towards solving problems.)

CONQUEST II. Ideally suited for groups with a “superhero” level of testosterone! (Although it’s more physical, non-athletes can comfortably participate and contribute!)

URBAN EXCURSION I, 2 and 3

Don’t confuse URBAN EXCURSION with your average stroll in the park. It’s the mother of all scavenger hunts and urban adventure races.

We think Mark Burnett would approve. We’ve combined your run-of-the-mill, team building scavenger hunt with an urban adventure and put it on steroids. Our three versions of the URBAN EXCURSION take place in pre-set locations, but we can always customize something for you anywhere, anytime! Click here for URBAN EXCURSION cities and photos!

URBAN EXCURSION 1: Trivia, Photos & Things

Each team receives a booklet that contains a list of trivia to learn answers to, things to photograph and items to obtain. Each item is worth a certain number of points, depending on its difficulty. The goal: get the most points possible while keeping within the rules of the game and local laws.

URBAN EXCURSION 2: Downtown Detour

Here, we take URBAN EXCURSION I and add required team challenges that come and go throughout the day. Just when things are going great, the call comes in and teams take an unexpected detour, stopping everything they’re working on to participate against other teams for bonus points. This detour teaches them to regroup quickly, think on the run, let go of old ideas that are no longer working, and approach new problems with lots of flexibility.

URBAN EXCURSION 3: Amazing Race
In this version of URBAN EXCURSION, teams go for the fastest time rather than the highest number of points, so absolutely no slackers! This corporate team building program is just like the TV show, with detours, roadblocks and yield signs. Teams need to work together and work hard using both brains and brawn to win.

TEAMPLAY

What is TEAMPLAY? Whatever you want it to be! It’s a half-day of team building exercises totally customized for your team. Type A sales guys get high-energy activities, engineers get to analyze and compute, and people in global companies get activities that are important because everyone can relate to them.

TEAMPLAY builds relationships through teamwork and play. Our clients love it because it’s a good time, but it’s also seriously challenging. We’ll start your team off with a few group energizers. Then, depending on the size of the group and goals, we’ll divide into small groups for team problem-solving activities to really raise the bar and see how they work together. We’ll end with a debriefing session to help them find connections (individually and as a team) between the day’s team building activities and their real life back at work.
